CLASS QF JU E 1954 I-IISTCRY 7th Grade Our class began in 1948 when a small, but brave hand came from Chatham to Perry. Their goal was to struggle and strain to learn all they could to equip themselves to go out into the world six years later in 1954. 8th Grade By now our class was really a part of Perry. We were full of school spirit which made us cheer at sports events and support Perry in every way we knew how. 9th Grade Our freshmen class was increased by the country kids and students from McNziugher. At first they were as lost and confused as all new students are and, as a result, often wandered into the wrong room or spent hours looking for the famed elevator This year the president of the Junior School was elected from our class. Members of our class were making outstanding records in junior varsity Page Twenty-six sports, playing in the orchestra and hand, and taking important parts in the club activities for the Junior School. 10th Grade In our sophomore year we were transplanted into new home rooms which were to be ours for thc rest of our career at Perry. Although this was our first year in the Senior School, we were well represented in all sports and clubsg and we were really beginning to know what it meant to be a Perryite. 1 1th Grade Suddenly, we found ourselves juniors and right in the midst of all the activity. Menibers of our class were officers of clubs, and some were even setting school records in sports events. Most important and exciting of all was the day when we received our shining class rings. Some of us were accepted into the National Honor Society during this year, too. 12th Grade As seniors we had a great many new responf sibilities. We were helping to run our school: its dances, its sports events, its cafeteria, its news- paper, and all the things that go to make up a school. With all these things to keep us busy, it was midfterm before we realized it, and we found ourselves bidding goodfbye to the February grad' uating class. Time seemed to slip by unnoticed, Hardly had we gotten over the excitement of our senior pictures and the midfterm graduation when thoughts of the prom, baccalaureate, and our own graduation flooded our minds. Their nearness made us realize that soon we must leave behind our school days and use what we had learned in a new life. So we say, Thanks Perry, and may we truly use the knowledge you have given us, for service.
