MMG gldidf Alas, when the roll is called in P. H. S. next fall the class of '53 will be among the missing. We leave Perry a little sad at heart and will always look back with fond memories We are justly proud of our record and point with pride to a few of our achievements. But first take note of our capable sponsors, Miss Anna Traubert and Mr. Chester Ironsg and next, our class officers, who were elected by this class after deep thought and consideration. The president is Dale Claving vicefpresident, Warne White, secretary, Madeline Azzarellog and treasf urer, Bernice Baynes. Among the outstanding people in our class are Ted Rohm, who has been president of the Biology Club for the past four semesters, Carole Colebob, who is editor of the Perryscopeg Don Mc' Bride, who is editor of the Yearbook, and Charlie Heard, who has been the pianist for the Orchestra, A Capella Choir, and most of the groups who needed an accompanist. Although there are others to fill the places of the '53 graduates, sports at Perry will suffer a heavy loss. Wziriie White broke the swimming record in the 200 yard freestyle. The time, which was formerly 2.12, is now 2.10. Don Wocndrtuw added to the glory of Perry by finishing third in SCHOOL OFFICERS Dave Norris - Activities Mgr. Nancy Etzel - Secretary Bill Wylarid - President Ray Priest - Vice-President the City Cross Country finals and setting a Perry record by coming in eighteenth at Pcnn State. Music makers are in our midst, too. Rememf ber the Sentimentalists, and their . . . rhythm? Ted Rohm, Bill Kay, Charlie Heard, Gits Sell, and Aubrey Hall '55 made up their band and played at the Perry Fair, Milroy, and Bogi dances. Ever have your name on the bulletin board re- minding you that you had thoughtlessly dropped waste paper on the floor or had broken some other school rule? That was the work of Charlie Chan's Crew organized in '53 by the members of Senior Council so that we would have a better and cleaner school. Another achievement in '53 was the change in the point system. Now the cheerleaders get 15 points, the members of the Cafeteria Committee get 10 points, and the girls who work in the office get 15 points. This year we have kept you posted on school 'lgoings onl' through more issues of the Perryscope- We had thirteen papers this year, a new high in the number of issues published. We hope Perry will not forget us, for we will always keep her among our memories. Our Perry High dear Alma Mater thou ....
