adam UZQ44 Jzdaw 7th Grade Golly, aren't seniors big? We twenty little Chamthamites who came trooping to Perry that cold day in February, 1947 found quite a difference from what we were used to. Mrs. Russell became our first report teacher, and through her guidance we got our high school career off to a .good start. 8th Grade Aw Mrs. Russell, not more math cards? Slowly but surely our class was growing. We were taking an active part in Perry's activities now, and did we yell at those football games! 9th Grade But if its a dead language, why bother? Freshmen at last! New friends joined us from McNaugher and Clayton. We now chose our own subjects and were at long last permitted to join Milroy. Due to our size, we had to be divided into two home rooms. Half of us went to 203 and the other half to 319. 10th Grade He was kidding about a week of tests, wasn't he? On the move again. This time the Chem. Lab. and 311 became our domain. What fun we had this year! The fellows went out for the team, and the girls tried out for majorettes and cheerleaders. Our class was dwindling in size but not in spirit. We came through biology with flying colors - well, anyway we came through. 11th Grade If only Macbeth had died at the beginning of the play- The civil war raged again. The Yankees from 311 and the Johnnie Rebs from 106 brought it back to life, all in fun of course. When football came around this year, our class was well represented on the team. The same was true of basketball and swimming. Chemistry class was always full of surprises. This year we got ou-r taste of 1000 word themes, Shakespeare, and hydrogen sulfide. 12th Grade Honest Miss Lyons, I gave you the absentee slip. For the first time since 8th grade our class was all together. Twentyfnine under the guidance of Miss Lyons, started off on the last year of high school. The Senior Play Growing Pains came and went. Five from our class participated. Every' one waited impatiently for the prom, then suddenly that, too, was over- But Edgewood Country Club and Tommy Carlyn's music remain in our memories. The semester changed. Stewart Sell became president of the school and jim Grivas, president of the class. Pictures were exchanged with the usual ohs and ahs . Class day preparations began with great care and secrecy. All too soon we found our' selves in the midst of commencement arrangements, and everyone in the class had the same question on his mind, Why does time fly so fast?
