5E '1 1' V Si 0 ' Aa,-0 46' 1 B, lvl CLASS HIS I ORY PUSHED baek a wisp of gray hair as I settled into the easy chair before the fireplace As I sat gazing into the open fare a huge white braek building surrounded by torrid tongues of flame sprang up from the burning logs My memories returned to that building Perry High Sehool where the four happiest years of my life were spent The scattered embers and glowing knots of wood glimpse of high school life Thinking of school reminded me of the old musty photograph album that I have cherished all these years Picking it up it fell open to a picture of Dr John H Adams That brought to mind our first day The welcome speech he gave us was so inspiring that as we left the auditorium each student was determined to do his best Our freshman year was eventful an that we were separated from some of our oldest friends and were pl aeed with strangers who were dastined to become our new el assm ates as well as our friends Also we h ad to beeome aeeustomed to finding our way through a seemingly enormous building we got our first glimpse of life preparing subjects and we all beeame adjusted to high school life in general Theres the paeture of our Sophomore Class Werent we an alert looking group of students ' I ' We were all eager to do our best even though it did require a lot of time but somehow we always managed to get at done My thas picture 1S well worn' The picture of our football team' I stall remember how we used to stand for two hours in the rain to boost Perry on to another vaetory How we entered the various clubs! We were certainly always willing to support school activities! Looking up from the album and gazing into the fire the licks of fllame seemed to paint a portrait of our junior Class after it had been enlarged by a group of students from Hamilton. They were a super gang and fitted right into our eleventh grade family. Sadness settled over the class 'as we were separated into three home rooms during the first half of the eleventh Grade. Miss Waddell 111 Dr. Cretzinger 104 and lMiss Altsman 209 were our guiding lights. We were much happier when some of us were recombined under the leadership of Miss Waddell in the last half of our Junior Year.
