“Beyond Expectations " Our doubts are traitors, and moke us lose the good we oft might win, by fear- ing to attempt. " — Shakespeare from Mac Beth In years past, Perris High has been limited by its self-image. The excuse has been " What do you want? This is Perris High! " But this excuse is no longer valid. Our whole atmosphere has changed. Our school spirit is growing with our ac- complishments. " People are getting into spirit this year. It ' s only my Freshman year, but it seems like we are more spirited now than we were at the beginning of the year, " says Freshman Christy Cogdill. This attitude is reflected by Senior Kelli Heimark: " People participate more now and the crowds seem to be bigger at school events. " The campus itself has undergone con- siderable changes. A new front gate has brought charisma to the school ' s en- trance. A new Quadrangle serves as a snazzy intersection to our hallways. " When I was a Freshman, that was just dirt, but now it looks really neat, " says Senior Marina Soto. On the whole, the staff and student body have bettered Perris high School ' s campus. From the new academic events to our ever-improving athletics, we have stepped beyond the expec- tations of many pessimistic observers. So now our only challenge is to go above our own expectations and con- tinue to strive for excellence. ”
