Harry V. Pownall, Assistant Principal Assistant PrincipoI's Message WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE? It is important in our lives that we continually concern our- selves with purposes. We must constantly keep in mind that behind every action, whether instinctive or contemplative, there is always a definite purpose. It is also of utmost importance to take time to study and analyze the underlying motives or purposes behind all actions, including our own as well as those of the other person. Upon hearing a comment concerning a friend or acquaintance, whether favorable or unfavorable, do you ask yourself, just what prompted such a statement? Was it to help or hinder? The real purpose of any statement is its consequence. Why not quietly search for the motives that prompt all actions or comments? Every premeditated action, at its root, has a good or bad motive, so before taking action on any important matter, try to determine the fundamental purpose - where you are going, why you are headed in that direction and what you expect to achieve when you have reached your goal. Most important of all would be this questionz- What is my major purpose in life and why do I do the things I do? HARRY V. POWNALL Assistant Principal. 9
