,M EXECUTIVE OFFICER GEORGE Y. BRYSON Lieutenant Commander George' Y. Bryson was raised in Bountiful, Utah and enlisted in the United States Navy in February of 1968. I-Ie served four years asa Signalman onboard the amphibious flagship USS ELDORADO CLCC-119, and left active duty in 1972 to return to college. After graduating from Brigham Young University in May of 1974, Lieutenant Com- mander Bryson was offered a commission in the United States Navy, attended OCS in Newport, Rhode Island and was commissioned as Ensign in December of 1974. Upon commissioning, Lieutenant Commander Bryson was assigned as radio officer and subsequent- ly second division officer onboard USS BLUE RIDGE CLCC-193. In March 1978 he was assigned as com- munications officer onboard the USS CLEVELAND QLPD-79. ln January 1980 he was selected for Flag Lieutenant duty and served as Flag Lieutenant and Aide for CTF 75 in Subic Bay, Republic of the Phi- lippines, and then to Commander Second Fleet, Nor- 6 folk, Virginia. After completing the Naval Department l'lead course of instruction in May 1984 Lieutenant Com- mander Bryson was assigned as the operations officer onboard USS CLAUDE V RICKETTS CDDG-53. Follow- ing this tour he was assigned as operations officer on- board USS COMTE DE GRASSE CDD-974l. In March of 1987 Lieutenant Commander Bryson completed the Executive Officer course of instruction in Newport, Rhode Island and reported onboard the USS PENSA- COLA QLSD-58D as Executive Officer. Lieutenant Commander Bryson's personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and various unit and compaign awards. Lieutenant Commander Bryson is married to the former Carol Sue Logan of San Diego, Califomia. They have six children: George L., William L., Katherine, Jennifer, Michael L. and Todd L., and currently resides in Virginia Beach, Virginia. ...Z

CLARK SMCMKSWJ Clyde Thomas Clark was raised in Hardin County, Kentucky, graduated from North Har- din High School in Vine Grove, KY: and enlisted in the United States Navy in August 1967. After completing basic training at Naval Training Center, Great Lakes Illinois, he was sent to Fleet Training Center, Newport, Rhode Island for Signalman training. Upon comple- tion, SMCMISWJ Clark was assigned onboard USS IN- GERSOLL CDD-6525 homeported in San Diego, CA. In January 1970 he reported to the USS KRETCHMER CDER-5291 in Pearl Harbor, HI. SMCMISWJ Clark left the Pacific Fleet in July 1970, and was assigned on- board USS CALCATERRA IDER-5905 homeported in Key West, FL. After a thirty day temporary duty at Na- val Station, Norfolk, VA, he reported onboard USS LUISENO QATF-1563. A two year shore duty assign- ment starting January 1974 was next at the Correc- tional Facility at Naval Air Station Millington, TN. SMCMQSWJ Clark was sent in January 1976 to the USS BARRY CDD-9553 in Philadelphia, PA: and was then 8 assigned in June 1977 onboard USS OPPORTUNE QARS-413 homeported in Little Creek, VA. In January 1981 SMCMISWJ Clark reported to the Saudi Naval Ex- pansion Program located at NAB Little Creek, VA. Af- ter being assigned onboard the USS SHREVEPORT QLPD-123 in December 1982, SMCMQSWJ Clark would retum to shore duty .at the Naval Guided Missile School, Dam Neck, VA. January 1986: before repor- ting to USS PENSACOLA QLSD-581 as Command Mas- ter Chief in January 1988. SMCMCSWJ Clark's personal awards include the Humanitarian Service Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal, five Good Conduct Medals, six Sea Service ribbons, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with device, and various unit and cam- paign awards. SMCMCSWJ Clark is married to the former Brenda L. Abell of Radcliff, KY. They have three children: Dan- iel R., 16: Joseph L., 14: and Melissa A., 12: and cur- rently resides in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
