N 7 N f V An equally fast backload of ship's boats and ballasting up and the MARC was once more on its way. Additional excitement to this landing at Pian de Spille was the clearance for our UDT shipmates to complete an island insertion by parachute, both static' line and freefall. Upon completion of the various aspects of the landing, the MARC followed the path of LA MOURE COUNTY to a tender availability in the French port of Toulon. This was the first visit to France since 1977 and the crew was greeted by several changes, the requirement to wear their dress uniforms, an increased Shore Patrol requirement and prices had skyrocketed. American sailors were not singled out, as noted by the numerous French and Spanish Sailors in the crowds frequenting the Little Chicago entertainment district fbetter known as The Gut j near the gate to the base.
