CLASS HISTORY In August, 1951, 32 frightened soldiers entered battle. The battle ground was Pennville High School where they fought their way through studies of passing grades trying to win the victory of graduation. This is a review of the turmoils and struggles that went on. Our leader was Mrs. Carpenter and our general was Mr. Schnar. Those in our regiment were George Brewster, Steve Clevenger, Karen Denney, Jim DeHoff, Joe Dillman, Larry Gilly. Charles Hartman, Lelia Hartman, Dale Hoover, John Horn, Dean Ireland, Buddie Jackson, Douglas Jackson, Robert Johnson, Terry Kessler, Diane Knotts, Yvonne Lewis, Kathleen Mahon, Betty Outcalt, Connie Paxson, Jane Schnar, Gelana Sell, Allen Shuttle worth, Pat Shura, Linda Simons, Kay Stultz, Roy Taylor, Teddy Toland, Dave Watts, Keith Wall, Susie Wappes, and David Wolford. Those leaving the regiment were Buddie Jackson, Douglas Jackson, Robert Johnson, Terry Kessler, Kathleen Mahon, and Betty Outcult. Our second grade teacher was Mrs. Lipp and those gained were Donald Bickel, Ruth Clark, Linda Dean, Barbara Decker, Jack Landers, Max Miller, Mike McMillian, Don Padget, Larry Rigby, Larry Wheatly, and John Pearson. Those lost were Donald Bickel, Ruth Clark, Steve Clevenger, Dale Hoover, Don Padget, Larry Rigby, and Teddy Toland. Our third grade teacher was Mrs. Hisey. Those gained were Jackie Cline, Mable Lee, Dan McNeil, Jeffery Ogan, Peggy Ogan, and Larry Welch. Lost were Linda Dean, Peggy and Jeffery Ogan. In the fourth grade our teacher was Mrs. Oblinger. We gained nobody and lost Larry Wheatly, Jane Schnar, and Joe Dillman. In the fifth grade Mrs. Smith was our teacher and our principal became Mr. Addington. This year we gained Howard Crocker, Nancy Hurt, Harry Keen, and Norma Simons. Those lost were Howard Crocker and Nancy Hurt. Our sixth grade teacher was Mr. Cline. We gained Ronnie Claghorn, Harvey DeHoff, Irene Guntle, Jack Hambrock, and Paul Shanneyfelt. Those leaving us were Irene Guntle, Jack Hambrock, Norma Simons, Mable Lee, and Paul Shanneyfelt. We encountered a new front. Our seventh grade class sponsor was Mr. Rose. Those gained were Clayton Mink, Junior Norris, Joan Ray, Tom Rowles, and Joyce Johnson. In our eighth grade our sponsor was Mr. Hostetler. We gained Dick Huffman and Tom Miller. We knew we were gaining victory as we entered our freshman year. Our sponsor was Mrs. Paxson and our principal was Mr. Young. We gained Larry Duncan, Betty Miller, and Frank Taylor. We lost Joyce Johnson and Betty Miller. In our sophomore class our principal was Mr. Huber. Those gained were Susie Boiling, Dale Hoover and Christine Johnson. Those lost were Yvonne Lewis and Joan Ray. Our junior class sponsor was Mr. Hill, principal, Mr. Sharp. We lost Lelia Hartman, Karen Denney, Harry Keen, and Frank Taylor. The battle finally ended as .we entered our senior year of school. With the help of Mr. Hill we graduated with the victory banner fly- ing over head.
