They took their bounces, but always came up ready for the next game. The shuffle was the inn step at practice. Exhibition season was tough. An interworking team had to be formed. The novice Indians faced Ligonier on Jan. 8 for their first league trial. With the fantastic support of the home crowd, the Indians annihilated the opposition, 81-31. There was a convincing win over East Pittsburgh, but two hammering defeats were staged by Turtle Creek and Swissvale. We bounced back for Trafford. With two defeats the guys realized there was no rest. We rolled past Ligonier and hammered East Pittsburgh this time, but Swissvale was too hot. Turtle Creek was squashed, but Trafford shaded us 68-63 in final league competition. We occupied second place with Trafford in Section 14-B. 80
