Hood This was the best year we ever had, mainly because it was the iirst. We were organized quickly in late fall under the guidance of Mrs. Doberneck. Although most of the prac- ticing was done after school, we also spent classtime singing and acting our specialties. Then came our debut. Miss Brown's and Miss Pelosi's four student teachersj sorority Eta Sigma Phi invited the Penn High Latin classes up to Seton Hill for a party. We were ready to provide the entertainment. Along with the chorus, there was a boy's quartet and a soloist. CWho will ever forget how our first soloist got laryngitis the day before the program and how we had to End a substitute the last minutelj Our Charlie Brown Christ- mas Play was an original play fright Mark'?j featuring the author in one of the main roles. Officium Stellae was a play con- cerning the significance of the star leading the Wise Men to Bethlehem. ...gl W.

There is a veil of sophistication over the JCL which makes it seem dull and unappealing. Like the pur- pose to promote the studies of Romans and Greek cultures. We have demolished that veil, found that even the people of the classical civilizations of the past knew how to have fun. Maybe they didn't play bingo or sing the songs we sing, but they had the same common interests. This year we sponsored the Penn High Latin Fair and judged the entries which were on display. The fair was held at the same time the Latin Fair was held at Buhl Planetarium in Pitts- burgh. ROW l: Mrs. Doberneck, T, Vitolo, D.
