We were the ones that yelled the loudest at the Junior High pep ral- lies. We ranked fourth now and really began rating. Except for the embarrass- ment of Skid Row, school wasn't all that bad. We attended classes in the hallowed halls of the Senior High and even got our own lockers. Everyone ate in the Senior High cafeteria from real glass plates fwhat a break throughlj. Some ofthe teachers seemed downright human, but Mr. Perich still terrorized us. In very secluded places it was said that Mr. Perich could squeeze a lump of coal with his hand and turn it into a diamond.
