TO THE CLASS OF 1969: Let me extend to each of you my personal congratu- lations and those of the entire University community. You graduate in troubled and uncertain times in our history. Some of you now will continue your studies here or in other universities. while others will seek em- ployment of some kind. Many of you will remain in this great State of ours. while others will search for your destiny in states throughout the nation and. indeed, in many parts of the world. Wherever you go or whatever you do. it is my wish that you succeed to the utmost of your expectations. Curry forth the patterns of study, examination and crit- ical evaluation that you have established at Penn State and remember that the quality of your character and citizenship will far exceed in importance the manner in which you seek to earn your daily bread. The world to- day stands in need of your responsible citizenship. We shall miss you. but we look forward to welcom- ing you back to Penn State again and again in the years ahead. Goodbye and good luck to all of you. President President of the University ERIC A. WALKER. President, The Pennsylvania State University
