WNWNN N ,,,,,,., - ,,,, na- ,,,,, ,,.. - ,,,,,,,,, ,,,YYYYY v.... ,,YYYYVYYYVVV -Y----- - - - M O I R S NNWWNNNNNNNww W ' , , CLASS HISTORY On a bright and sunny morning, as one usually says, in September, 1938, one hundred and three pupils, except those from Wind Gap, came trudging up the hill, The latter, slow but sure, rode up in a motor-driven vehicle known as the School Bus, which, although having seen many years of service, always got to its destination, much to our sorrow. My, we were proud! We were start- ing Senior High School at last. Of course, we were lost for a week or more, but we finally found ourselves. Then the Sophomore Class organized with Miss Ellen Bonney as our class adviser. The following officers were elected: President, Jay Young: Vice President, Robert Lewis: Secretary, Harriet Godshalkg Treasurer, Conrad Martin. During the year we enjoyed several social affairs at school and a roller skating party at -the Bangor rink. The climax was a very enjoyable spring dance held in the cafeteria of the school. After a very pleasant vacation, 88 of us returned to good old P. A. H. S. We were sorry to find some of our former classmates missing. Well, we were now Juniors. My, we were getting up in the world! The class was organized with Miss Thelma Brunner as our class adviser and the following members as officers: President, Jack Williamson, Vice Presi- dent, Edward Lobby Secretary, Dorothy Allen, Treasurer, Arthur Roberts. The first important thing accomplished this year was the choosing of our class colors fpurple and goldj , pennants, hats, emblems, flower, and motto. One outstanding event was the annual Prize Speaking Contest, also sev- eral parties and dances, which, of course, were topped by the first formal prom in the gymnasium, to be sponsored by any class of the school. The big affair of the year-our Junior banquet, held at Monomonock Inn, Mountain Home, brought the activities of our Junior class to a close. Then, before anyone realized it, came September, 1940, with 83 boys and girls beginning their Senior year. Of these, 81 remained to finish the year under the leadership of President, Robert Lewis, Vice President, Dante DeBer- ardinisg Secretary, Mildred Youngg Assistant Secretary, Marian Doneyg Treas- urer, Jay Young: Assistant Treasurer, Martha Phillipsg Adviser, Mrs, Edna Imhof. The year's activities started with the annual magazine campaign, which proved very successful. The first of our social gatherings was a Thanksgiving Victory Dance. Following this came the Snow Man Dance, a roller skating party at Saylorsburg, the Senior Prom, and most important of all, our Senior banquet. With all these happy memories behind us, we are now looking forward to the climax of our whole high school career-Class Day, Baccalaureate Service, and Commencement. v Thus, the scene closes on the high school days of the class of '41, and with it all the joy and happiness we shared together.
