Senior Class History9 On September fourth of nineteen forty- five the Freshman class entered high school with an enrollment of thirty-seven students Filled with ambition and enthusiasm, the ma- jority of our class settled down to overcoming the obstacles which tlhe high school course of study offers to its freshman students. Under the able guidance of Mr. Heckman we started our first year in high school. Our class welcomed five new students: Martha Ernsthausen, Tom Bockbrader, Lloyd Peters, and Pauline Davidson from New Rochester, and Miriam Hecker from Cleveland. A class party was held in the school cafe- teria in September. We also had a Hallowe'e.1 party in I-Iartrnan's barn. The class had a lot of fun at both parties. During the year we elected the following as class officers: President-Daniel Sander Vice President - Dorothy Samson Secretary - Heber Howard Treasurer - Scott McCreary We started our Sophomore Class with thirty-two students. We were very sorry to lose five members of our class, but were very glad to gain two new members in January. They were Betty and Bonnie Musser. A' We had Mrs. Russell to guide us through our school year. We all missed Mrs. Russell wlhen she was ill during the winter. At that time we had Mrs. Rainy and Mrs. Shultz to take Mrs. Russel1's place. Tihe big event of this year was the pick- ing of our class rings, and the hayride which followed.
