Laura (Tatoo) Castillo. Relaxing between classes. AMERICAN FIELD LAURA CASTILLO Speaking at the Homecoming as- A member of the Homecoming sembly. court. When I came last year. I didn't know what I could get from this experience. I spent my first months trying to communicate with the people. Using sign language or my dictionary just to get others to understand. I have begun to understand and be understood by others. I clearly remember my first days in the United States, everything was confusing for me. new people, new customs, everything was new. But I will never forget my first days at PHS. I couldn't open my locker. I couldn't find my classes. I didn’t know where I had to go. I couldn’t remember or pronounce names, but I wasn’t afraid or worried because there was always somebody who helped me. I have enjoyed the school activities in which I’ve been participating. like Student Council. Mental Health Club. AFS. club NHS. Pom Pon girls and the Track Team. Also I enjoyed watching the football games which I had never seen before. Volleyball games (Always remember Vamos Paxton!!!) and the basketball games too. Being a member of the Homecoming court was and will be a very special memory for me. (Thanks) Prom was fun, and something different, hard to forget. I wish the next students have as wonderful experience as I’ve had. I want to thank all those persons that in one way or another have helped me. To my teachers, my friends. PHS, to the whole town of Paxton, and especially my family. This has been a great and wonderful year. And I hope someday I can return you everthing gave me during my stay here.
