Would you believe that the girls' volleyball team won district and ad- • vanced to sectional? Would you believe that our football team was Tri-Champs this year? Would you believe Pat Jordan broke a new record by eating 21 prunes? (right) Would you believe Lisa Gritton went to State Speech and placed 3RD? (Center) Would you believe someone T.P-ed the girls' bathroom? (left) Would you believe Kathy Kingston likes to eat ice cream through her nose? Would you believe?7?? ...Girls Basketball Team was Conference Champs ...First time Girls Guys B-Ball team played on same night. ...All sports have received awards. ...there was a bomb scare ...there was no cross-country or tennis. ...there was school on Community Sale Day. ...there were lots of wrecks in the parking lot this year. .. .we have SHORT FRESHMEN. ...there were 12,532 hamburgers served in 1978 in the lunch room. ...there was an assembly for girls volleyball. ...speech team received 4th place at Sectional. 16 Winter Christmas Julie Shallenberger and Mandy Garson were elected Christmas Queens 1977, by the Student Body. A Help!! Twas the night before Christmas. Santa's little helper. The snow comes down at PHS. m by Thornton Wilder (M George Gibbs (Jonathon Kaye) sits at his window daydreaming about Emily. Mrs. Gibbs (Chris Sherwood) and Mrs. Webb (Susan Woodworth) do what they do best — gossip. Emily Webb (Mary McCabe) sits at her window daydreaming about George. The Stage Manager (Debbie Reckowsky) doubles as Mr. Morgan at the drugstore. Doc Gibbs (Jim DeShasier) reads the Grover's Corners Sentinel. 18 Without People Back Stage... There Wouldn't Be People On Stage Do it with feeling. There's the problem, right there! 19 AFS Student Mandy Garson Feeling Proud. Speaking at homecoming was only one of the highlights for Mandy Garson, our AFS student. Mandy also helped with the winning float!!!! Getting prepared for her birthday shower from some fellow classmates!!! Mandy Garson, from South Africa. Just having a good old time on the Blue Gold staff. TO THE STUDENTS OF PHS: I want to thank you and the faculty for making this an unforgettable year. I will never forget attending my first football game. Homecoming, the volleyball victory, the Christmas parade, getting the traditional birthday shower, being blamed for all the snow, and of course those friendly Hi's as we passed each other in the hallways. I hope that you will keep the AFS programs active in Paxton so many others can have the same fabulous experience. This year has once again proved the validity of the AFS motto, Walk together, talk together, all ye people of the earth; then and only then shall be have peace!!! Spirit is how Mandy expressed her friendship for PHS. 20 PE0P L® Seniors ........................22-35 Juniors ........................36-41 Sophomores......................42-47 Freshmen .......................48-53 21 Senior Honors Looks Like We Made It 1st row: Julie Quivey-pres., Rhonda Brinegar-treas.; 2nd row: Kathy Kingston-rep., Julie Shallenberger-rep., Rena Wilson-rep.; Missing: Karol Rinkenberger-sec..
