These events were only a small part of the activities that kept people busy during the past year. P.V.H.S. isn't all fun and games, however, getting involved in the fun keeps school exciting. We had our clowns, our dedicated football players, our devoted Panther People, and our expectant mom. These people and events played an important part in keeping the school spirit alive. What does being a senior mean? It is a feeling, an emotion and a growing up process. lt is a time when we are given a chance to be ourselves without totally being out on our own. lt is a time when we can learn many things about life and the world beyond our homes and schools. We have our whole lives ahead of us, and we have to decide which path in life to travel. We cannot make each others decisions, we can only give support. The honor of being a senior holds many responsibilities. It is a year when we are young enough to enjoy being kids but old enough to know what we want out of life. lt's also like being on a merry-go- round. lt seems to move too slowly, but it's sad when the ride is over. Graduation will come too soon. lt scares us to know that in a few short months new experiences and responsibilities will come our way. Take time underclassmen. Wake up an look beyond today. Our advice is to learn from the past, live for the present, and reach for the future. The band played during Basket- ball Homecoming, the Special Olympics, and the Mid-Winter Con- cert. Kneeling: Coach Bobby Miller, William Patchell, Tommy Gibson, Coach Jake Jackson, Sitting: Manny Walker, Russell Mitchell, Tony Marchbanks YH., Greg Buckner shows everyone how he feels about the Panthers. BASEBALL 1985 was an exciting season for the Panthers. They started out slow, losing 3 of 5 games by a total of 3 runs. It took them a while to get everyone in the right position and to get the bats go- ing. The team consisted of a very exceptional group of young men with plenty of talent. Lynn Self now owns the new school record for homeruns. Greg Buckner was the most winning pitcher in school history with a record of 47-9. He was also 7th in the na- tion with 462 career strike outs. The Panthers placed 2nd in the annual Leopard Classic where they were beaten by Binger 8-4 in the championship game. They also placed 4th in the Ducan SOI tournament. The district championship for the second year in a row had begun their road to the state tournament in Tulsa. Regionals were held in Byng. The Panthers were regional runner-up after being beaten by Byng 7-1 and 10-O. The majority of the team will be back next year. Including Tommy Riddle who lead state class 3A in doubles with 19. The Panther's final season re- cord was 23-10. IX 4 X f x .Q ' X 'N qei . Terry Dillard slides into base. Lynn Self warms up before the game. i i ie Panthers discuss last minute game plans.
