Summer meant more than just jobs, Almost everybody at some point was at a camp or workshop. Academics carried over as publication students spent a week at a Future journalists of America Workshop at OU. The cheerleaders were close at their heels, headed for cheerleading camp. At a time when a few good leaders were needed, some students spent a week sharpening their leadership qualities at Girl's State and Boy's State, And what's summer without baseball? The All-American sport is a summer tradition for both boys and girls. The end of summer brought the beginning of football practice. A week before school started, two-a-days began- twice a day, every day- supervised by Coach Bob Holladay. With the opening of school the number of workshops did not decrease. They merely evened out to become part of the daily routine of school. .
