M . , I W . Members of the School Board, FRONT ROW: Vice-President Nathan Stufflebean, President Jim Little, Clerk J. E. Suggs, Member Roy McGee. STANDING: Member Ralph Shebester, Member C. R. Licklider, Superintendent R. E. Carleton. BOARll 0F EDUCATIO Under the direction ofthe Board of Education, a new high school was planned and building began in 1958. The building will be of a new type of concrete construction that has been proven in other Okla- homa communities. lt is one of the cheapest types of construction. The school board has chosen a building that is not only modern and attractive, but also very economical. This type of building is the safest in fire and wind storm. ln Atomic Bomb tests, this construc- tion withstood the blast where other types failed. A model of our new school was chosen to be displayed at the National Association of School Administrators at their forty-third annual meeting in Atlantic City early in February. The school board has been assisted in their activities by the Lay Committee of 58 members. The Lay Committee has no official capacity except to act as an interested advisory group to the board which gives due consideration to all recommendations and acts on them accordingly. This is the south view of the new Pauls Valley High School. To the left front of the picture is the auditorium, behind which is the band room and shop. From the auditorium to the right will be class roomsg the office is center right and classrooms extend from right of office to the- north. r M W . nf c- .- wg, t 'T 3l,.,uwa.+. 3, i , .U ,Q , -gaf, 4 A . it ,, 5 1271 . -A . -ct, . at as F-' ' .ii ' ' 'Q it if .
