Dick, an alumnus of Patterson, spoke te the student body. l34 '13 Seated on stage the varsity football players made their first public appearance to the student body. Each annu player was introduced. Plays were described and formations were shown at the al assembly. Patterson cheerleaders led the audience in ever familiar cheers. The co-captains chatted with Mr, Bielski and received tips from the pro. Mr. Rankin explained how many yards would be lost if certain penalties took place. For omd Football , rx. Our school band entertained at half-time, while the cheer- leaders led the students in cheers throughout the game. Although our season was hampered by our loss, we fin- ished with a 6-1 record. Patterson's first special assembly of the year was held on October 1. The as- sembly which was in coniunction with the music departments' program featured the music of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. The Orchestra which was led by the associate conductor, Elyakum Shapira, presented two concerts at the school. Each homeroom class was asked to contribute useful articles to be sent to students in need. Backstage the models prepare for the annual fashion show given by the Home Economics Depart- ment. Easy to sew dresses and skirts were shown at the Spring Fashion Show. What to wear, from casual to formal was modeled by home economic students. Twice a year Patterson's girls must thank the Simplicity Pattern Company for showing the do's and don'ts of No matter how the students get to school, walk, take the bus, or drive, they are entering to learn. Many different subjects keep the days from becoming a bore. Varied Subjects Make School Interesting Each day hundreds of Patterson students leave home to take the special BTC buses direct to the school door.
