ThaT greaT day when we would begin To make our mark in Paso l-ligh. lT didn'T Take long, however, Tor The seniors To show us ThaT mark was going To be preTTy small. AcTually, iniTiaTion was a loT oT Tun. The seniors gave us a wonderTul recep- Tion ThaT nighT To welcome us buT They also made sure we sTiII knew we were The small Try. For our oTTicers we elecTed Punky Erb, presidenT: Larry Wilshusen, vice-president and Shirley Dahl. secreTary-Treasurer. AT The end oT The year we walked OTT wiTh The inTerclass conTesT Trophy. We showed Those seniors who was dumb, all righT. A The nexT year we elecTed Arnold STeinbeck as our class presidenT, wiTh Bud lvlcCoy as vice-presidenT and Wayne ATwood as secreTary-Treasurer. As The year and iTs Trials and TribulaTions neared an end. we ordered our class rings. When we came back as upperclassmen we elecTed Bob Flood presidenT oT The class, and Arnold STein- beck vice-presidenT, Shirley Dahl Treasurer, and Sally Bean secreTary. Plans soon began Tor The junior-senior prom. We had been warned abouT whaT a iob iT was since we were Treshmen, and we dug righT in. We had a big magazine drive which Took care oT our Tinancial Trou- bles: Then we had To sTarT organizing The whole Thing. The Theme was Evening ln Paris. IT was carried ouT wiTh a Tlower-covered TounTain, an EiTTel Tower, and Parisian sTreeT scenes. This year iT was our iob To decoraTe The arches Tor lvlay Day. Some oT us goT up aT Tive in The morning To gaTher Tlowers. The arches were beauTiTul. We ordered our senior sweaTers, which were blue and whiTe wiTh an emblem designed by one oT our own class arTisTs. Pamela BoTTs. Wirh The closing oT The year we waTched raTher enviously as The seniors walked across The sTage To receive Their diplomas. Seniors-big wheels aT lasT! Now iT was our Turn To scare Those poor Treshmen. We gave Them an iniTiaTion They'll never TorgeT. We elecTed John Burson presidenT, Neil l-linckle vice-presidenT, and Sally Bean secreTary-Treasurer. The year sTarTed wiTh a bang! The TooTball Team was going good, and They didn'T sTop winning unTil They had copped The CIF championship. Boy, were we proud To be Trom Paso Robles! DiTch Day-ThaT long-awaiTed day when we could eaT. swim, loaf. and geT sunburns wiThouT a guilTy conscience and a Teeling oT dread Tor The nexT day. This was The day when diTching was legal. May Day was beauTiTul, maybe even more beau- TiTul To us because we realized This would be The lasT Time we would have a parT in iT. The iuniors gave us a beauTiTul prom worThy oT being remembered as The lasT big dance oT our high school years. Following baccalaureaTe and The senior banqueT. The nighT came when we would walk across The sTage To receive our diplomas and sing The school hymn Tor The lasT Time. Our years in Paso l-ligh had come To a close, buT we will always carry wiTh us Tond memories and graTeTulness To our Alma lviaTer.
