Students use the library in class groups, small groups, or individually for research or for recreational reading. Our library is open throughout the school day, from 8 in the morning until 11:30. As well as learning to cook an sew, a girl can learn child care, good grooming, etiquette, meal planning and preparation, buying, and budgeting. The weekly menu must be planned with a thought for nu- trition, variety, and economy. This responsible position is under the direction of Mrs. Ethel Thiel. At a designated signal we don our identification tags and proceed to the loading zone. Some of us go in personal cars and others in busses. We are checked at the reception area by nurses and scouts and then we return to school and go back to class. In less than two hours the students t of the vvhole Pasadena school district have been evacuated to safety and returned to school, and it's business as usuaI again. Gearldine Lay is a part of the program before the announcing of Handsomest and Most Beautiful. Here the finalists are ner- vously awaiting names of the winners. A beautiful part of the Prom is the Grand March. ACTIVITIES Bingo at the Band Party The annual Band Party is always the scene of the presentation of the Band Sweetheart-- Norma Olson this year. Bingo occupies some of those who attend the Party. The Student-Faculty Basketball Game is the scene of much rough-housing and Mr. Womack is one ofthe teachers on the receiving end . . . Hold on boys! Watha Wortham, a high pressure salesman, spearheads a successful campaign for the March of Dimes . Roger McNally, Ben Laws, and Herbert Rankin are the three All-State Band Members from our school. This club was started by the Rockettes this year with Aunt RiIl as sponsor. The Rockettes must maintain high moral standards to be an Eaglett. The Eagletts' first project this year was buying mirrors for the Rockettes to use at the football games. The Eagletts gave Aunt Rill a surprise birthday party which was a huge success. Pasadena took a 7-O lead early in the first period after Brad Derrick bounced on a fumble. Newcomb rambled five yards for the score. This lead was held until the third period and then the Eagles Went wild. The Jackets punted to Pasadena's 30. The Eagles went to the Jackets ll after May gained 30 yards. Bert Coan took a pitchout and skirted ll yards for six points. A tumble set up the third TD with Derrick covering and Coan scoring from the three. The Eagles jumped into a quick lead, but lost it and the halt ended 38-32 in Baytown's favor.
