CQTW-G5 f 4 The Pasadena Homemaking Department was or ganiz. e d about 1927. At this time it was in two rooms in the main building, now Mrs.Slate's room and the teacher's lounge. In 1931 the Home Economics cottage was completed. The Clothing L a b, Foods Lab, k it c he n and dining room were fu r ni s h e dp the rest of the rooms were furnished in 1934. New furniture and fur- nishings were added year after year. In 1947 the cottage received a new coat of paint both ln s1de and out Venetian blinds were placed through out the building and new furniture in the study was bought The kit c hen was remodeled and brought up to date in every respect in 1948 La st year 6 new Singer Sewing machines were added T oday our Homemaking Cottage is one of the best in the State -'hi 41XN ,v v n'i!!! g N ifi :a:1! SGHQOL EUILDINGS The m ain building was built in 1924 with the girls gymnasium and auditorium added in 1928. The first class in high school consisted of one teacher and about twelve students. Each year after that a t e a c he r was added. Pa s a de na won this game 19-7, their first time to defeat Goose Creek. Coach C. P. Wall, head coach from 1936-1942, had two bi-district teams. 1-Ie was replaced by Lee Mitchell in 1943. In 1945, Ned Thompson became head coach and succeeded in having two bi-district teams. In 1947, Coach Sial Hancock, our present coach, took over head dutie s as coach. In 1947, our first ye ar in AA competition, Pasadena High School won district. All of the football games through the 1949 season were played in the old stadium. Before this stadium was built, it was necessary for the people to stand on the sidelines in order to see the game. It EW QTADIUM ,r Lp' ' nf .df .nf Y Pasadena High School s new football stadium a steel structure with wooden seats will be com pleted by the summer of 1950 The contractor for the S130 000 stadium was john Dollinger of Beaumont The seating capacity is 8 O00 with a glassed in press box accommodating 75 people Another fe atur e of the press box is the three private broadcasting booths The turf and under ground s pr inkling system came to a total of 510 000 Ticket booths and parking areas are IQ?
