If jlgafor The class of 1962 came to this school six long years ago. Under the guidance of Miss Ruth Richards and Mrs. Edith Deason, we soon adjusted to high school life. That year we chose Linda Herron and Joe Ralph Fletcher as our sponsor and escort for Homecoming. Linda Herron was elected cheerleader. The next year we were under the guidance of Miss Pearl Key and Mrs. Leon Short. We chose Nancy Harbinson and Oliver Dodson as our sponsor and escort. Linda Herron was again elected cheerleader. Our Freshman year was a very eventful one for us. We were permitted to make a Homecoming float. We chose Brenda Hendon and Bobby Kitchens for Homecoming sponsor and escort. Several mem- bers ofthe class won honors. Peggy Sanders won Miss Sweetheart of Parrish High. Linda Herron placed in the Miss Sweetheart contest. Peggy Sanders and Marie Tittle placed in Miss F. H. Under the guidance of Mrs. Willodean Baird, we gave a beautiful Junior- Senior Banquet. The theme for the banquet was Mardi Gras, and the decorations were fabulous. In the Miss Parrish High contest, Peggy Sanders placed third and Linda Herron placed fifth. Joe Fletcher shared the title of Mr. Cupid with Grover McMillian. Linda Herron was elected cheer- leader. Peggy Sanders was the county winner in the oratorical contest. August 28, 1961, is a memorable date to us of the graduating class, for on that date we enrolled as SENIORS! Under the capable and patient guidance of Mrs. LaFayette Michael, we were soon at work on the many activities that go with the honor of being Seniors. Every member of the class was on the annual staff. To finance the annual, we sold magazines, Mason candy, and Christmas cards. We also sponsored the and Miss Parrish High contest and Joe Fletcher won Mr. Parrish High. Donald Moore, Glenn Robertson, and Tim Courington placed in the Mr. Parrish High contest. Peggy Sanders placed third in Miss Parrish High. Sandra Williams and Glenn Robertson were sponsor and escort for Homecoming. Peggy Sanders was the only Senior cheerleader. Peggy Sanders was chosen DAR Good Citizenship Girl. This has been a year of hard work but an enjoyable one, and we thank Mrs. Michael for working so faithfully with us to help us make our Senior year one filled with pleasant memories.
