GAME WRITE-UP PARRISH 0 DEMOPOLIS 39 The Parrish offensive completely collapsed as a fine coached Demopolis team completely out- played Parrish. Bo Spear, one of the fastest stopping backs in South Alabama, was the shining star of the game as he scored 4 T D's. PARRISH 0 ANNISTON 0 Coaches Hodges and Speed took the wraps off a sophomore back, Ben Crane, he scored on a 67 yard run late in the 4th quarter, but was called back. The entire Parrish team played outstanding ball as Captain Turner was the outstanding blocker on the field. PARRISH 25 VALLEY 14 The Fighting Tigers got back into the win column by defeating a strong Valley Hi team. Flat Smith and Eddie Wall were stalwarts in the Parrish line, as both opened gaping holes in the enemy forward wall. PARRISH 13 EUFAULA 26 Parrish went down to defeat before a great Eufaula team. Baird and Crane were the outstanding players for Parrish. PARRISH 13 TUSCALOOSA 12 Coaches Hodges and Speed went back to their old stomping grounds, as both were former Crim- son Tiders, and brought back a victory over the Black Bears. It was the first Selma victory over Tus- caloosa in 6 years. PARRISH 37 CLANTON 7 Coach Hodges' offensive minded Tigers completely demolished a valiant Clanton team. The Tiger offensive functioned like clock work, as time after time Parrish backs were breaking into the clear for long touchdown runs. PARRISH 6 LANIER 14 Parrish was beaten, but not out fought by a highly favored Poet eleven. Bart Starr and Nick Ger- manos were the stars for Lanier. Selma had a decisive edge in all the statistics. PARRISH 37 GREENVILLE 20 Those Fighting Tigers kept right on rolling along and defeated Greenville. The Parrish team was unstopped as they needled off several touchdowns marches. PARRISH 46 DOTHAN 21 The people of Dothan called them the best blocking football team they had seen in IO years and that was the story, as Coach Hodges' Tigers completely wrecked Teedie Faulk's Wiregrass boys. Twelve seniors said a reluctant goodbye to Coach Hodges and ended one of the most successful football sea- sons in Selma in many years. Page 90
