Til JU lllli RED CRIISS The Parrish High Junior Red Cross, under the guidance of Miss Florence Wallace, has always been very active. This year they packed boxes for overseas relief and promoted the Red Cross drive with great spirit in Parrish High. Some of the other proiects were baskets filled with food for needy families at Thanksgiving, clothing sent to people overseas, sent books to the Veteran's Hospital in Mont- gomery, and made an afghan. As a highlight to their year's work, one member of the organization is sent to the Red Cross Training Center in the summer. This year it will be held at a camp in Tuxedo, N. C., the week of August 21 and Dotsie Nelms was chosen to attend. Page 63

CL The D. O. Club includes vocational students in the Distributive Education and Diversified Occupations classes. Students in the part-time cooperative program attend school for one-halt day and work in se- lected business establishments the remaining halt day. The D. O. Club meets twice monthly, one meeting is devoted to business, the other to a program presented by club members or guest speakers. The highlight of activities sponsored by the club is the Employer-Employee-Parent ba n q u et with which the club members annually honor their parents and employers. This year's banquet was a St. Patriclds Day attair, the decorations, menu, and entertainment all depicting an Irish atmosphere. The club annually sends delegates to the State D. O. Club Convention held on the University of Alabama campus. Fourteen members of the club attended this year's convention. The Parrish High group won first place in state competition tor an original skit presented as an entertainment feature of the Convention. Page 65
