CLASS lll i'l'0RY iContinued from Page l3Ol Summer of '48 brought more changes in our disturbed little lives. The boys who had begun to look almost human again were once more shorn of their crowning glory, and the girls were strange creatures in lipstick which seemed to be every where but on the mouth. In spite of it all, we managed to hold our heads high and conceal most of our fear on that first day at Parrish. Gradually we settled down into the routine of high school. Of course, there were slight in- terruptions-the thrill of that first pep-meeting and the time a senior actually spoke first, but we soon became a fairly useful if somewhat unpredictable part in the mechanism of a well organized school. There were two outstanding milestones in our four years at Parrish. The first was the Junior- Senior Prom. We put everything we had into that dance. lt was the first time our class had really worked together, and we were proud of the results of' our effort. The second was the magazine sales. We set our quota so high that even we were afraid of it. Once again we worked, and came in with a total of 36230, which gave us the trophy for outstanding sales in The South. As the year draws to a close and we hear the familar chords of Pomp and Circumstance , high school days become memories, and a beautiful chapter in the Book of Life closes forever. With faith, hope, and the inspiration given us by high school friends among both faculty and stu- dent body, we confidently face a new life. LASS PRUPHECY lContinued from Page l35l Speaking of models, look and see Hazel Pigg, specializing in toe-nail polish Guaranteeing that it cannot be demolished. Bernard Reynolds' success as a lawyer, Gives him more fame than the celebrated Tom Sawyer. Sara Alice Clonts, with one ambition-iust to finish school, Now finds herself the owner of a beautiful swimming pool. Doyle Smith, who works at Tillman's and handles the bakery's bread, Makes sure all the pretty girls who come in get fed. Mary Frances Holroyd has a profession of which she can boast, She now writes romantic stories for the Saturday Evening Post. Johnny McWilliams who's on the tennis team at Bama Gets his name spread through the Rama-Jama. Juliette Isaacs, now Mrs. Weir, Keeps her little family without a care. Cecil Jackson, announcer of fame, Will tell you that radio is not a game! Molly Ann Klinner has a new profession, She went to Texas and now has an oil-well collection. Ted Smith, a famous baseball player, Wouldn't change places with the city mayor. Bernice Worrell and Winnie Wright have married and now live on a farm. They like the city, but they say the sun does them no harm. If your house needs redecorating, drop in sometime and see Jimmy Carr's new furniture store, You can buy furniture for your house for S6 a week, or maybe a little more. Beverly Wire, whose label we find on many a dress, ls one of our leading designers, our figures her clothes caress. Charles Faulk, an important man around town, So important he has a bodyguard like Billy Cherry to follow him around. lContinuedl
