Guys and gals dding to the long list of annual pre-Christmas activities, the Belle and Beau pageant provided entertainment and a break from class for Patriots. The atmosphere was somewhat more formal than in years past because, for the first time, the pageant was held in the auditorium. It was really hard to find something to do with my hands, said Vicki Tennant, junior contestant. After we were out there in the spotlight and everyone was looking at us, I really felt dumb. ' ' Someone knew what to do with his hands, or rather with his head. With Steve Martin's style and a little of his own, senior nominee Joel Sazama broke the routine by borrowing a trick of the trade from a fellow comedian. An arrow through his head helped ease the tension of the assembly and got Sazama Cotton mouth. I felt that it was an honor to be a part of such a great tradition here at Parkview, said Lauren McKnight, sophomore Belle. I was sort of nervous during the interviews, but it was really fun.
