The boy's varsity basketball team started off at a slow pace. Their opening efforts are best described as 'XBAD BREAKS! - they had to forfeit the first five games! Despite problems early in the season, the team pulled together and ended with an overall 6-14 re- cord. b Senior Keldn Townsend received the Most Valuable Player award and Craig Leak, also a senior, was named the Unsung Hero. I couldn't ask for anymore. Coach Lewan- dowski's statement after a Lady Ram victory. This statement can describe the entire 1985 basketball team. The Lady Rams ended their season with a 19-4 record. This is the second best record in the team's history. Each mem- ber of the team combined efforts for a suc- cessful season. The girls advanced to state playoffs by defeating Cambridge in the Re- gional tournament but lost to a tough Har- wood in the state tournament. A special con- gratulations goes to Senior Alece Shock Shockley. Alece ends her high school career being the first Lady Ram to score over 1,000 career points.
