Some of the beach-goers attempted skim- boarding, boogie boarding and surfboarding. Others were content to just lie on the sand dunes or swim in the ocean. Those students who didn't go to Ocean City usually went to the local pools or to Assateague Island. ln the evening, many people hopped into cars and headed toward O.C., either to cruise the Coastal Highway or to the boardwalk. Some Parkside people put on their dancing shoes and 16 SLIITIITICI' Scene went to Crigolo's, the new teen dance club in West Ocean City. Other students stayed in Salis- bury and went to local movie theaters, the Colt League games, the Mall, or to pizza parlors. For many students, however, summer wasn't all fun and relaxation. For some it meant work! A lucky few found jobs in Ocean City, others worked at the Mall or for local businesses. But in August, the band, the cheerleading squad, and the fall sport teams started their long, gruel- ing summer practices.
