Parkrose never had a bad year in the Wilco League and this year was no exception. The Broncs fin- ished their last season in the league with an 8-1 record. The Bronco defense was a key factor in a fine season. Seniors Alan Tuttle, Ken Reed, Roger Keller, Paul Keck, Drake Snodgrass, and Jerry Hagist, helped form one of the best defenses in the state. Our offense, led by quarterback Steve Jones and end Lee Welch, was just as good. Both Steve and Lee were named to All-State teams. The offense had a systematic and versatile attack behind a strong front wall. Two of the best games came against tough Wy'east and the greatly improved Canby Cougars. Three outstanding seniors were Lee Welch, voted the most outstanding player, Jack Robertson, who gained the most yardage, and Steve Jones, whose passing ability helped make him one of the best quarterbacks in the state. Team captains were Lee Welch, Steve Jones, and Alan Tuttle. 13

Thirty-four girls from all classes participated. They practiced every day during a regular period and had some rehearsals in the evenings. The girls had two outfits, one consisting of black skirts and vests, and the other con- sisting of pink jumpers with polka dot blouses. During football season the girls made up their own dances in accordance with the halftime band program. They also participated in the band formations on the field. The Bronco Hi-lites again made up new dances for basketball season. They danced at the Holiday Classics in Lake Oswego. l5
