Parkrose never had a bad year in the Wilco League and this year was no exception. The Broncs fin- ished their last season in the league with an 8-1 record. The Bronco defense was a key factor in a fine season. Seniors Alan Tuttle, Ken Reed, Roger Keller, Paul Keck, Drake Snodgrass, and Jerry Hagist, helped form one of the best defenses in the state. Our offense, led by quarterback Steve Jones and end Lee Welch, was just as good. Both Steve and Lee were named to All-State teams. The offense had a systematic and versatile attack behind a strong front wall. Two of the best games came against tough Wy'east and the greatly improved Canby Cougars. Three outstanding seniors were Lee Welch, voted the most outstanding player, Jack Robertson, who gained the most yardage, and Steve Jones, whose passing ability helped make him one of the best quarterbacks in the state. Team captains were Lee Welch, Steve Jones, and Alan Tuttle. 13
