honor society Honor Society, headed by Mike Kirby, started out this year by adding fifty-four new members to the club. These students were chosen at an assem- bly given for the whole student body. Soon fol- lowing the assembly, the club gave an induction banquet for the members and their parents. Later, to obtain money for their annual scholarship award, the members sold tickets to Janus, a play presented at the Blue Room. Mrs. Burnett, as advisor has contributed more than her share of support to the activities of the club. thespians The Thespians of Troupe 1783 have done an excellent job of furthuring the recognition which Parkrose now receives for its drama department. They started the year out with Shakespeare's Twelvth Night. This was followed up in the second semester with the presentation of three plays--The Chairs, The Room, and Zoo Story. At the Speech Arts Festi- val, two prominant members, Michele Mariana and Dean Gor- danier, each received S200 scholarships for their fine acting performances. The year ended as a success with the work- shop presentation given by Parkrose at the National Thes- pian Convention in june. For those involved, drama has be- come more than just an activity.
