-' . l' ', - 'Q ' ,,5j..1Jf. 2235, NF' Concert and varsity bands The Concert and Varsity Band spent an active year, performing in four main concerts, the Pops Concert, Wilco League Festival, the Spring Concert, and the All-Parkrose Instrumental Festival. They also hosted the Oak Bay High School Band who visited them from Canada. When they weren't practicing for a perfor- mance, they took time out for pleasure. At Christmas they went on a tree hunt and in the spring they held a picnic. At the picnic, band awards were given to the students who had contributed more than their share of time and effort to the band. The enthusiasm put in by the 80 band members contributed to an interesting and successful year. 76

dance band This year's dance band, although not partici- pating in many activities, was well appreciated in the ones which they did take on. They helped in the Homecoming activities, which were soon followed by their playing for the Senior Ball. Their final performance was at the Pop's Con- cert. The band practices on every Monday night throughout the year. They are a group of students with closely related interests who have put their interests to work. 78
