21 Q: YET' A -JL... f L., student store One of the most beneficial additions to the school this year was the expansion of the Stu- dent Store. The new store gave needed floor space and convenient walk-around service. All year seven girls worked willingly to provide excellent service to the students during both lunch periods. They sold everything from penny red licorice to Chaucer's Canterbury Tales to pillows. Mr. Gay, the Advisor, had his hands full but managed to do a commend- able job in keeping things running smoothly. Honor was brought to the Store when Student Council voted in Store Manager, Liana Rosander, to a membership on Executive Council. This was just one way the students had to show their gratitude to the new Student Store and the girls who worked so diligently to make it successful. The twenty-three girls organized this year's Thanksgiving' assembly, and then Went on to sponsor a book drive. For weeks students contributed used books in good shape that they had no use for, and the Alpha-I-Daka girls sorted them and evaluated their worth. They sold them to other stu- dents. The money earned from the book drive went toward sponsoring the Spring Cotton Informal where they crowned Pat Conner King Cotton. Through these activities, A1pha-l- Daka has provided ample service to our school. Mrs. Escourt - Adv. Linda DeVore Gail Sarine-Pres. Linda Evenson Candy Middal - V.Pres.
