Observations are essential, as any science student knows, so they stay prepared with a sharp eye and a sharp pencil to record what's happening. Biology students may find some of their most interesting days spent in the lab. Here they explore organisms and study functions of living cells. Precision is the method in these courses. Students solve for the un- known with basic albegra, and work with the science of sizes and shapes, geometry. Physics provides a more involved look at objects of our environment and the forces which effect them. The advanced courses, though more difficult to learn, show increasingly fascinating ways to solve complicated problems of space, velocity, and energy.

A-Capella choir members prac- tice enthusiastically for the Thanksgiving program. They often find these rehearsals fun as well as work. just count the smiles. Drama is another of the classes which provides enjoyment to many, and an opportunity for per- formance in addition to study. In these surroundings, thespian leanings of Parkrose students are encouraged, and their tal- ents are developed. At left, intently watching the music in front of them, the clarinet- players of the Parkrose band rehearse their parts, per- fecting tone and rythm as do all members of the band. Some of those developing these skills here may one day be profession- als. Each of these classes can be considered a form of art. Many of the students have had private training outside of school, and most participate in extra-curricular musical or dramatic work.
