They study the nations and empires of other times and the government and economies of today's world. In courses like modern problems they gain knowledge that will help them to become better and more well-informed citizens. By applying les- sons of the past from studies of history to present day situations, it is hoped that these future voters can critically analyse the issues before them with greater foresight and a sense of responsibility.
