5tuofc1fw coumcif Student Council brings about the benefits of democratic self-government and good student management. Representatives, chosen at the beginning of the year from each homeroom, along with student body officers, standing committee chairmen, and a faculty advisor, held their meetings twice each month. The standing committees have difficult iobs that continue throughout the year. Bill Robertson, was the chairman for the Assembly Committee. They had the task of obtaining the necessary equipment and making sure it was set up correctly. Head of the Finance Committee, Elaine Bock, had the difficult iob of keeping accurate records of all the money-raising events. The chairman of the Evaluation Committee was Chuck Frary. This group conducted surveys to find out opinions of students concerning school functions. .limScheele was the chairman of the House and Grounds Committee. This committee was in charge of the up-keep of the school's property and bringing problems of this nature to the students' attention. At the head of the Publicity Committee was Ruth Rupprecht. Dual responsibilities fell upon the shoulders of this committee. Their iob included the making of signs to advertise Park- rose functions and the contracting of metropolitan newspapers, radio, and T.V. to inform the community of our activities. Claudia Hopkins was the chairman of the Awards Committee. This group formulated the list of all sports awards to be given at the end of each season. Leading the Social Committee this year was Joan Garrow and Greg Frank. Welcoming new students into the school and being in charge of all the social functions were the pleasant tasks of this committee. The Junior Rotarian had the major function of representing Parkrose Senior High at the Rotary meetings. This year there were three students selected at the beginning of the year. They were Jack Mulder, Jim Allison and Bill Robertson. They were chosen because of their equality of service to Parkrose High. The boys represented Parkrose for three months each and at each meeting they told of the honors, activities, and athletics of our school.
