The trip to the State Basketball Tournament in Eugene to defend their championship title, high- lighted a most successful season for the T964-65 Parkrose Bronchos. ln their first round game with the Pendleton Buckaroos, the Broncs showed their great skill with a 67-40 win. The Medford Black -Tornado proved a strong challenger to the Bronchos title. Through most of the tension-filled game, Medford led until the last minute. Parkrose was ahead 57-54, when the Black Tornado made a field goal with 45 seconds to go. The final score was 57-56, Parkrose the ivictor. The Apollos of Sunset broke the Broncho 29-game winning streak. 5unset's heighth proved to be a deciding factor in their 67-56 win over Parkrose. Playing in the finals on Saturday night against the Thurston Colts,the Bronchos displayed their fine defensive and offensive talent with a 7l-65 victory. Not only did the Parkrose basketball team work hard at the tournament, but many students and teachers gave of their time, money and energy to root the Bronchos on to third place. Their effort was rewarded with recognition by the press and by many individuals and organizations.

This year's Baby Broncs continually displayed both qualities. They finished their season with an impressive l6-6 record.
