As sophomores they participated on the hot dog committee and sold candy. Among their other money making proiects were an after game dance, selling calenders, and selling scotch tape. Serving at the Junior-Senior Prom and the annual class assembly were other functions. During their iunior year, they co-sponsored a basketball rally and dance with the P.T.A. They also held three after game dances and presented the class assembly to the student body. The traditional Junior-Senior Prom highlighted this year and proved to be an outstanding event. The Junior class owes many thanks to Mr. Johnson and Miss Nail for their quidance during this year. U ziiiillclf A sy 924' Xl-' mfg! -up K if Km? f 4, 4 .. . They formed a successful hot dog committee to serve the students during football season. Their candy sales at the basketball games provecl to be a financial success. The sponsoring of an after game :lance was another one of their activities. The sophomores also served at the Junior-Senior Prom ani presented their annual Sophomore Class Assembly to the student body. The sponsors for the class of '60 were Miss Dundore and Mr. Herrington. Much can be expected from this busy class. 45 D, Adkins i - A ,: VJ, -aw li ' 77 . ' ' 1225 ,:: E., , .. -A ,.,..: gt..,,t,.. Sk ' ,kwwy are W ,M ' ' ' fx.. 9 ' 1 x SQ N321 W R ' D, Anderson R. Her home in Portland is with Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Young, parents of Dallas Young, Parkrose's foreign exchange student to Denmark last summer. Although being frightened at the first thought of starting school, Kiki found that Parkrose was very enioyable. When asked how she likes Parkrose she said, I think parkrose is unusually nice because everyone is so helpful and friendly. Activities as well as studies have kept her busy. She had obtained membership in Tolo Na, Tri-Hi-Y, and Girls League. She also placed second in the Metro League Voice of Democracy Contest. Kiki plans to further her education but her greatest ambition is to travel or be- come an Air Line Hostess. We at Parkrose have enioyed having Christina in our student body very much and we wish her all the luck in the world with her future. 61 lillll UF THE YEAH For her outstanding service to the school, June Turner was chosen Girl of the Year, September October November December JUNE TURNER JILL FURSE JULIE FURSE DARLENE SIMPSON Le21d6rShiP Friendliness Personality Sincerity IHHUHFY February March April DALLAS YOUNG EUNICE HANSON CHRISTINA MANHEM JULIE FLOM Wisdom Citizenship Courtesy Service BUY UF THE YEAR Q Vince Zanobelli was chosen Boy gf of the Year because of his out- fff f m V i A standing qualities, September ERIC HARDIN October November December January BOB KRENING BILL LONG JOHN MAHONEY RON DUELTGEN , . VARISTY HlllTBAll lnspirational player and co-captain Bill Long, Mike Writer co-captain Although the l957 season was not o success as for as the won and lost col- umns were concerned it had certain emoluments that are hard to come by. The willingness to compete with undying spirit in all games is fast becoming the trade brand of all Broncho football team. The fact that the squad remained intoc all through the season is highly commendable. The flu bug took its toll from week to week and brought about a changed line up for each game. In spite of these handicaps the team carried on in the traditional manner and highlighted their homecoming with a resounding win over rival David Douglas I9 to 0. Next years prospects will also be inexperienced but they are well based in the fund- amentals of the game and will carry on with the same fighting spirit as teams in the past have.
