On Friday, January 30, 1981, the Beta Club travelled to Little Rock to attend the Annual Beta Club Convention. The group attended meetings and activities provided for their entertainment. They made new friends with Betas from other schools. On Saturday night after attending the talent show, they went to Casa Bonita for dinner. A very tired, but happy, group returned home Sunday afternoon. The Beta Club has been active in community affairs this year. They maintained a baby-sitting service for P.T.A. parents, sold birthday calendars, collected aluminum cans for recycling, and helped the schools with entrants in the Special Olympics program at SAU, Magnolia. The Future Homemakers of America Club held its Annual Mother-Daughter Banquet at Bowen's Restaurant on April 13 1981. The theme of the banquet was an Easter Parade. The club members held a basketball game and sold spudnuts at recess each day to raise money for their banquet. Officers for the 198182 school year were installed.
