CLASS HISTORY We, the graduating class of 1981, began our trek to achieving immortality in the year 1969 in the minds and hearts of the faculty and student body of Parkers Chapel. Ronnie Lollar, in his eagerness to complete grade school, came to school every day with his shirt on backwards and his shoes on the wrong feet. Due to our many misdeeds of the first grade, we were blessed with the addition of David Jones in the second grade and because of his unusual vocabulary, Jamie Phillips acquired the taste for soap. In the third grade, David Millican, lost in the excitement of moving to a larger playground and a higher slide, lost all control and intelligence after slipping gracefully from the top of the slide. The drastic part of our fourth grade was that Anna left us. Our fifth grade year was kind of tough. We were unfortunate enough to gain Gina lGopherl Buchanan. Also, we were at war with the sixth grade for possession of the only basketball. ln the sixth grade, we were all sorry to see Theresa leave, especially Mark, who had been her closest companion since the first grade. Sherry and D.J. proved that the sixth grade ruled over the elementary school by winning the yearbook coronation. We ended our grade school days with a graduation party. Then we took the leap to Junior High School. We started our high school days in the new high school building. We are proud to be the first class to complete all six years in it. While in the seventh grade, Mark was very happy to see Theresa return. Also, Venita Nash joined us. In the eighth grade, along came Rita and Tammy. The girls in the class were happy to see them because there had always been more boys in the class than girls. We switched one classmate for another. Anna returned to us, but Jackie left. In the ninth grade, we all took Driver's Education under Mr. Walls. When we drove by, all the other cars headed for the ditch, and pretty soon, Mr. Walls started using Grecian Formula. We were blessed with the addition of Lori Phillips that year. Tim Rainwater awaited her with open arms. The Freshmen were initiated into the Beta Club. D.J. was dressed up as a girl. Venita was also initiated and made a cute Rerun. In the tenth grade, we acquired our own rock group. Norma, Rita, Lori, and Tammy - the Disappointer Sisters - made a big hit with their single Tyrant, about the life of Julius Caesar. We picked up Ralph this year, and Jackie Joined us again. Mark showed his talents in biology class by making the CPR dummy moan in ecstasy. In the eleventh grade, we displayed our comedy talents in our dramatic play, Bats All Folks. All the girls have to thank this play and David Jones for their skinny noses. We enriched our vocabulary while producing this play, and David Millican learned how to get the girls to come to him. Our twelfth grade year has been exciting and eventful. For example, Jackie and Gina tried blowing up the science room by throwing a match over the gas nozzle.
