UcRcmewbffi HiSS J uyUrdnA There are those who remember Miss Martha Hubbard when she came to teach at Parker High School in the Fall of 1955-then she was THE Girls' Physical Ed. Department and the coach of all girls' sports-they can remember seeing her work after school for at least 20 years with the poms; they know the love and respect she and these many girls shared. Some staff members remember her agreeing to help the growing school by teaching some English classes. We now remember her for her continuing contribution to the English Department as a favorite, full-time member. Fans remember her keen interest in P.H.S. teams. Former students show they remember her when they return as they always ask, How's Miss Hubbard? All remember her kindness, consideration, firmness, fairness and friendliness-her overall decency to every student and adult with whom she came in contact. We, who are still at P.H.S., do not have to remember as we can see her in action in the classroom, on campus, helping at boys' and girls' games, and congratulating the poms-just being herself. So for all of us, from 1955 to 1979, Thank you Miss Hubbard. The 1978-79 La Reata Staff in presenting this yearbook hopes the student body enjoys this yearbook. It is a bigger and better book and the theme Remembering , will bring you beautiful and happy memories. The high point being the championship of the Blythe Easter tournament, and the low point a 3-5 conference record. Although the preseason expectations were not met, we were still a young baseball team so the season ended with a look to the future. Top row- David Plunket, Steve Price, Daniel Maya, Ray Trumbell, Will Pickens, David Jones, Bruiser Sevada, Steve Goodman, and Coach Davis. Bottom row- Bryan Sellers, Shane Kemper, Anson Humeumptewa, Clark Daniels, Mike Chrismer, Jeff Craig, Juan Limon, Doug Beard, Domingo Corona. The '78 J.V. Baseball team had a very successful season ending with a record of 12-6-1. The young 78 Broncs started 5 freshmen and 4 sophomores. Coach Davis felt that all members of the team did a fantastic job and should carry themselves well on the Varsity level.
