Le Cercle de Francais , continued several projects that have become popular favorites over the years. These in- cluded a picnic in the spring with Spanish Club and the annual Christmas dinner complete with French food like crepes and rich desserts. Our play at the Christmas party was Cendrillion or Cinderella and it's a good thing everybody already knew the story because I don't think they could have understood it from our version, said Bridget Horn, junior, lt was real- ly funny and we had a great time doing it. SPANISH CLUB An ice skating party in early February was the newest addition to the list of activities in which the Spanish Club participated. For the first ti'me the party was open to the whole school, and was well attended. Before, the ice skating party was held just for members but this year we decided to include everyone for a change, said Janice Beatty, junior. One of the highlights of this year was a lavish Christmas dinner. Food from several different Spanish speaking countries all over the world was served. Entertainment was provided by Steve and Paul Duncan who played the guitar before about 30 guests. 38 SPANISH AND FRENCH CLUB

Being a student director for Godspell , I was able to see a bunch of students who basically didn't know what they were doing develop and change into better actresses and actors. lt was really exciting, said Anita Vanetti, senior. Anita, like many other people involved in the production of various school plays during the year, was a member of Thespian Club. This organization was formed for people interested in the theater both in front and behind the scenes. Not only did members work on improving their acting skills they were also involved in jobs like lighting, direction, stage managing and directing. lt is really kind of an honorary club for people who have been involved in dramatics and plays throughout the year. commented Nancy Rose, junior. ,af an Us.. 40 THESPIANS
