STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council serves as the elected body representing the interests of the students before the school board and the teachers. Their other duties include selecting and setting up as- semblies. These are picked at the beginning of each year and pro- vide for the students’ entertain- ment. The council helped to set up Homecoming and Winter Carni- val events. They also decorated the school at Christmas time with a large Christmas tree. The Council is composed of 16 elected representatives, four from each class. This includes the pres- ident of each class. Members are chosen by the students them- selves. This year’s officers were Joanne Gottwald as president, Dolly Palecek as vice-president, and the secretary was Julie Jehn. 25

HEAD LIBRARIANS The librarians have many tasks working in the library. They have to be familiar with the library to know where a cer- tain book will be found. They check in and out materials and write out overdue notices. Also there is the job of putting away materials in their proper order so they may be found again. At the end of the year, an inven- tory of books has to be taken. This requires a lot of help in checking every book in the lib- rary to make certain it is in the proper place. They have to lo- cate lost books and also repair books for use next year. Mr. Burant is head librarian. He prepares audio and visual materials and checks to see they are in working order. He takes care of ordering new materials for the following year. 1976-77 LIBRARIANS: Jane Kundinger, Larry Hilgart. Jeanne Schrader. Dennis Boushon. and Barb Romeril. 26
