Torch is a lot of work! Again this year the torch staffhas tried to make the best yearbook ever. With a staff of only eight members trying to grasp all the happenings in a school year isn’t an easy task. With this few members, the staffhas to work much harder to try to meet our deadlines so you would receive your yearbook as early as possible. The staff sponsored many successful events during the year such as a car wash, record hop, and hot dog sales to try and raise money to go towards the torch fund. Mr. Busby was advisor for the torch again this year. He put a lot of time and effort in helping the staff to put together a good book and without him the job wouldn’t have been completed. Senioreditor, Mary Phillips, rummages through negatives tor the yearbook. Mr. Busby, advisor, took time out of his busy schedule to take a trip on the river. Mary and Marina strive for the best photos and writing materials for the yearbook. 14

THREE-ACT PLAY: OUR TOWN Our Town” by Thornton Wilder was the three-act play which was chosen by director Alyse Pirrota. The entire play takes place in Grovers Corners, New Hampshire. The play mainly revolves around Emily Webb played by Dolly Palecek and George Gibbs played by Scott Post, and their marriage later on in the play. The play ends with Emily Webb in the cemetery. Our Town” was presented to the people of Park Falls on March 25 and 26 in the St. Anthony’s auditorium. The cast and crew put a lot of time and effort to get the play to perfection. Not only should the cast be congratu- lated, but the technical crew should also be congratulated because they can make a huge difference between a well organized play and one that is not. CLOCKWISE: UPPER LEFT: George Gibbs played by Scott Post buys Emily a soda while they talk. UPPER RIGHT: Mr. Abrahamson looks on as Mary Nesja does her thing on making-up one of the cast members. LOWER RIGHT: Tom Dillon sits patiently as he had to wait for someone to finish making him up. LOWER LEFT: Jenny Trochlil, playing Mrs. Soames. lets the audience know what she thinks of the lovely wedding of George and Emily. Emily Webb gets a few reassuring words from her father. Ron Kundinger. 13
