SADIE HAWKINS The girls at LHS got a chance to ask their favorite guy to the annual Sadie Hawkins dance, sponsored by the sophomore class, on November 12. The theme for the 1976 Sadie Hawkins dance was Magic Man. With the help of Marie Burant, Laurie Behreandt, Karen Herbst, Lisa Sheedy, Agnes Kanikula, and Carla Messerschmidt, the mood was set to perfection with silver moons and stars dangling over the heads of the students while dancing. Pizza and pop were available in the cafeteria for the students when they got hungry or thirsty after dancing to the music of Disco and Co.” Marie Burant, in charge of the af- fairs, was very pleased to see the tremendous turnout, but next year people have to eat more food! DISCO CO. provided an unusual form of entertainment for the Sadie Hawkins dance. Magic Man was the theme for the dance sponsored by the sophomore class. There was a good turnout for Sadie Hawkins and everyone had a great time dancing to popular hits. 10

Bill Abel poses for the camera in his costume for the snake dance. Julie Jehn helped to lead the cheers at the bon fire. The soaring flames of the bon fire got the Homecoming festivities underway. Crowds of enthusiastic students took part in the cheers. The band played an important part with its music. Mike Larson and Dolly Palacek were the senior attendants. 9

s The assemblies of this year were the best we, students at Lincoln, have ever seen. The members of the student coun- cil selected the assemblies for the coming year. Along with the general assemblies we had several pep assemblies to raise the spirits of the student body. This year’s assemblies consisted of (1) James Wesly Jackson, (2) Mike and Michele, (3) Mime performance by Bruce C. Rathbun and (4) Clifford Guest. The students of LHS who helped to bring the assemblies should surely be congratulated. This is one pleasant change from the everyday school routine. James Wesly Jackson talked to the students and sang a variety of songs. “The Art Class was the title of a mime show. Students were truly fascinated by the mime performer Bruce C. Rathbun. 11
