PIECES OF APRIL The 1976 Prom got underway when the class of ’77 and some under- classmen decorated the LHS gym. They did an outstanding job decorat- ing it with panels done in pastels for the sides (which were made by the art students), a real fountain and trees in the center of the floor, and a colorful rainbow over the throne. The finishing touch was made by a white candle on each table. All who attended the prom waited for 10:00 when King Tom Lobermeier and Queen Joanne Gottwald would lead the grand march to the music of the Entertainers from Ironwood. The junior attendants were Jon LaBlanc and Dolly Palecheck; the seniors were Jerry Wocelka and Jayne Neeck; sophomores were Dan Gustafson and Lori Gunderson; freshmen were Kevin Mann and Jean Koshak. Jenni Gottwald and Joe Stueber were crown bearers. The theme song, Pieces of April,” added a romantic touch for all who at- tended the sentimental affair. The prom had a wonderful turnout and everyone enjoyed themselves. Queen Joanne Gottwald and future queen Jennie Gottwald admire the pond. King Tom Lobermeier and Queen Joanne Gottwald reign over their Junior Prom. The Entertainers provided the music for the prom festivities. 6

Music was provided by Hazard. MISTY MOONLIGHT The fairly new festivity, Winter Carnival, which is sponsored by the student council, was held on January 29 of this year. The students that were interested in running for king and queen signed up and had their pictures taken to be dis- played in the front lobby. The student body then took over and voted on the couple of their choice. The results were Dale Rude as king and Debbie Wagner as queen. Primary court was Mark Symonik and Shari Martin. Secondary court was Mike Larson and Cheryl Mrotek. Crown bearers for the dance were Bobby Jirschele and Nola Koshak. The theme of winter carnival this year was Misty Moonlight. Everyone was reported to have had a wonderful time, with the entertainment by Hazard.” Queen and King for Misty Moonlight were Debbie Wagner and Dale Rude. Primary court was Shari Martin and Mark Symonik. and secondary court was Cheryl Mrotek and Mike Larson. The court has their dance. 7
