This morning while looking through the newspaper, the editor being JoAnn Carlson, I noticed the headlines stated that the latest development in nuclear energy, used in our civil defense, has been developed by Gerard Egg- leston, the great scientist, whose assistant is Paul Johnson, the mathemati- cian. I also noticed on the advertisement page that James Koshak is head of the Wisconsin State Farm Experimental Station, assisted by his wife, the for- mer Mary Jo Campbell. Well, Eric Swanson made it after all, I guess he had some trouble while skiing down from the Yukon Territory. I see John Nelson, owner of the Nelson Ace Hardware, is wearing a pair of those fabulous eye glasses prescribed by Dr. Lawrence A. Gilbertson, a well known optometrist in the city of Chicago. Fay Rich is now secretary under Principal Richard Bergmark of the Lincoln High School. Now who is that foursome sitting at the table in the corner? It's Betty Lou Pauser, a housewife and mother of six children, five of whom are boys, Carol Newell, Donna LaMere, and Lois Gelina, all registered nurses paging through a 19§$ Torch. Frances Riley, happily married to Delbert Rogers, is wearing a very sty- lish hat fashioned by Joan Smith's Style and Fashion Shops, located through- out the United States. Judy Cooley called this afternoon and said that she is unable to come to the reunion because she is too busy taking care of her family. Twins do keep a person busy.' My, those are tasty pretzels made by Gerald Braunreiter along with his assistant, Wayne Soronen. Here comes the former Pat Glenn and the former Barbara Wold. I see their families didn't keep them home. And of course, the two teachers of our class are nere, Marion Lee, and JoAnn Hilgart. As you probably know,Jim Mockler is still involved in his project in Phillips; not saying what kind.' The Globe Trotters are on vacation now, which made it possible for George Preisler, one of the first five, to attend the reunion. Here come five members of the class still residents in this area, Jean Rickert, Diane Rogers, Nancy Feit, JoAnn L. Carlson, and Beverly Holt. All are married and living happily. If anyone is going fishing while in this great land of the fighting mus- kie, don't forget Mike Tapplin has a bait station in Butternut. Speaking of Butternut, Allen Myers is married and living there, too. Beverly Houck is married and living in Minocqua. Also living there is Jane Woodie, who is married and has two darling children. Phyllis Scott and Sylva Haasl are partners in a Tot-to-Teen Shop in Milwaukee. Robert Hilgart and Carl Sch- nautz are farming in Southern Wisconsin. The weather is wanner there. I heard Hershall Sturm is on his way to winning the Joe Lewis title. Good Luck.' John Miller has taken over the Hecimovich Distributing Co. in the area. Last but not forgotten, is Robert Little, in partnership with Frank Fer- kovich in running the Mobile Bulk Plant. Our reunion is scheduled to last two more days. May it be as pleasant as our four years of high school were. 26

Then at last we were Seniors J This year we chose as officers Phil Iless- man as President, Don Merten as Vice President, and Jane foodie as Secretary- Treasurer. Our advisors were Mr. Frokjer and Mr. Biwer. To start out the year, we finally took first place with our Homecoming float. Donna LaKere reigned as queen over our Homecoming Dance together with Jim .'eber, whom she chose as king. Another big event of the year was the presenting of our class play, Our Kiss Brooks, with Marni Helmke playing the leading rcle. Gradua- tion on May 20 marked the close of our high school career, and it was with many pleasant memories that we left Lincoln High as students for the last time. Here it is 1965 and we are at a reunion of the 1955 Senior Class of Lin- coln High School, still considered one of the most brilliant classes ever to enroll at that institution. Our reunion is being held at Fredie's Steak House, owned by Fred Hoffman which iras built and designed by Robert Herbst, the well known architect of this modern day of development. Fred takes pride in his delicious steaks, imported from Emil Passer's Slaughter House, located in Vest Virginia. The Web-Nessman Orchestra, directed by Phil Nessman and James Weber, is the fea- tured attraction. Now, believe it or not, some of the best players are: John Radlinger at the drums, Robert Blaski, a bookkeeper, located in Glidden, playing the trumpet in his sparetime, (His partner, James Vuchetich, takes over the books while Robert is away,) Carl Jacobs, well known for his ability to play the electric guitar, along with James Niebauer and his piano accord- ion, completing the orchestra except for the singer, which is Marni Helmke, a major in music in college. As we walked in tonight, we were amazed to see Kathy Mason, Proprietor of the Mason Motel Inc., Sue Gustafson, manager of a Clothing and Sporting Goods Store, Marge Hickey, who in her spare time, runs the Greasy Spoon Restaurant, and Mary Andraska, who has just inherited her dad's insurance agency. They were on stage as the Sweetheart Chorus Girls. I just came across Ronald Hilgart and the former Kathy Taylor, wno are busy as ever, only now raising a young football team. While shopping down town this afternoon I came across Janet Verth and Bernadine Wandrey, whose husbands have just returned from a tour of South Africa. As I walked by the hospital, on my way home, I noticed two pretty nurses caring for a couple of patients enjoying the sunshine. It was no one else but Joyce Hoefferle and Mrs. Robert Jaeger, the former Sharon Kotke. Robert Jaeger is a major sta- tioned here in Park Falls directing the National Guards. Speaking of the National Guard, Alvin Hilgart and Don Merten are as faithful members as ever and each is director of a special unit. Jerry Pyykola announced last night at the party that he has just signed a contract with the Brunkow and Kronberger Amusement Company located on State Street in New York City. He also informed me that Ardeth Mrotek is head director of the Northern School of Beauty Culture there. What is all that noise outside? Oh, it is just Richard Wilson with his new high-powered strato-streak Y-12. This is an invention of John Buetri- be rger, who used to be head mechanic of the Forest Service, but now has entered into a prosperous car industry, the Butz-Mobile. 25
